Spectacle Jack is now Lucy Luck Gaming, according to the Terre Haute newspaper the Tribune-Star.
A groundbreaking for the upcoming $125 million casino, which was authorized under the 2019 law that brought sports betting to the Hoosier State, has yet to be announced, but it could come in the weeks ahead.
The name Lucy reportedly comes from the daughter of Greg Gibson, the casino chairman of the company. It’s a move similar to what billionaire Dan Gilbert did in Ohio and Michigan with JACK Entertainment, a casino company that was named after his son.
A reason for the name change and the timing of the change was not disclosed.
Spectacle Jack isn’t the same company as Spectacle Entertainment. It was once a subsidiary of it.
Ex-Spectacle Entertainment CEO Rod Ratcliff recently saw regulators move to strip him of his license due to various violations and misconduct. Additionally, there was a probe into alleged criminal activity of Vice President and General Counsel John Keeler, who is under federal indictment. Spectacle Entertainment is in the process of developing a $300 million casino, also in partnership with Hard Rock International, for northwest Indiana not far from Chicago.
Ratcliff and Keeler were once investors in Spectacle Jack.

Gibson reportedly serves as vice chairman at Spectacle Entertainment. He hasn’t been accused of any wrongdoing with Spectacle Entertainment.
Safe to say Lucy Luck Gaming is a better name these days than Spectacle Jack.
